Here I've added more wing construction photo's

First I had to id and mark the correct spar orientation, this is a REAL BIGGY....

Next I have to install the gas tank and access hole nutplates, as you can see the cleco's are going to be in the way of the countersink microstop cage

This is number one, I only have 119 #8's to do, plus 240 rivets and then the access plates. this is going to take awhile, then the other wing

This is a scrap piece of skin with a dimpled #8 the skin is actually .032 I'm looking for smoooooothness here

this is what we need. nice and tight, sits flat PERFECT!

this is the HARD part, I'm doing them all by hand, YUP by hand.

round and round and around, my arm really got beat up doing these.

OK 30 down and a bizillion to go

Here's my Van's Air Force shirt hard at work, round and round again

Here's my back up view.....

Finally after a month of this, THEY ARE DONE! I think I'm a lefty now.

Now on to the wing components, First is the tie-down bars

FAA Action shot, drilling through the spar into the tie-down bar and spacer

Ready for primer

Here you are, next bolt these babies on with the Aileron Bellcrank weldment on the opposite side of these

Tie-down bolted on, it's starting to look like something now

Aileron Bellcrank Weldment bolted on.

Both spars done, look close and you can see the tie-down bars behind the flange

FAA Action shot, Now onto the rear spar, here I'm drilling the outboard rear spar reinforcement fork.

A closer look at the rear spar reinforcement fork and doubler plate

Melvin keeping an EYE on everything I'm doing, GOOD BOY!

This is the rear spar mid point reinforcement plate and Aileron bracket, I had to drill out that hole for the push rod you'll see that later

The rear spar Aileron outboard bracket and the Aileron gap seal, plus an FAA Action shot.. OK the FAA ation shots are proof that I really did build it

Whata ya think, it's almost an airplane ALMOST

whata mug, get your butt back to work ya BUM

Pretty kewl

Here you can see the push rod hole and back inside you see the bellcrank weldment, also see how BOWED the ribs are, I still have to straighten them

Alex giving me a helping FINGER? no sharp edges here, no blood

These are my REDNECK SAW HORSES, I even used clamps :) Did I mention I'm going to try building both wings at the same time.

The open gap between is for the gas tank, coming soon.

My little HAPPY HELPER face.

This is the Left wing, see no hole. YET!

FAA Action shot. Hard work airplane builder

The x'd out spot is the other push rod tube hole I have to drill out

FAA Action shot, I'm drilling around the edge using the spar as a template.

Now for Dremel, This is NICE, just like Butter

SWEET!, no finger cutting here.

Now I have to trim off the rear spar reinforcement fork and doubler plate, this is why I bought the bandsaw.

I think everybody takes this same shot, so here's mine

Look at how BOWED these ribs are, the four close ones for the wing walk reinforcement, this area will have double skins over it

mock up of the gas tanks

Here you can see the tank and access hole nutplates in place
